Welcome to Dunton Cider

Dunton Cider is a small enterprise making cider in the Bedfordshire village of Dunton. To read more about us clink on his link.

New for 2012

During the 2011 pressings we identified that the rate limiting step in our production process was the cider press. Even with our lovely oak press, the apple shredder could shred much faster than the press could press. In early 2012 we decided to build a larger metal press, capable of pressing four times as much shredded apple as the wooden press. Keep an eye on the News page and we will update you as we try the new press.

Dunton Village

Dunton is a small village in Bedfordshire very close to Cambridgshire and Hertfordshire. It can be found a couple of miles south of Biggleswade on the road towards Cambridge. The parish includes the hamlets of Millow and Newtonbury.

A Parish Plan has recently been prepared for Dunton which includes a short history of the village.

The village has a website which gives details of the Church, the pub (March Hare - well worth a visit), the Recreation Association, the community garden, the village hall and the school.

New for 2012 - a metal cider press. Mr Bailes here undertaking the simple task of drilling holes!

Mr Hollingsworth undertaking the more difficult task of welding the cider frame.

Mr Hollingsworth in action!

Thanks Simon. We'll have an unveiling ceremony when you provide us with the name plate!
